    Dear Scalpel Family and Friends,

We are beyond exhilarated to announce the kickoff of our Scalpel At The Cross, Miracle Campus, Capital Campaign. It is very humbling to have witnessed and to reflect on what God has done through our lives and this mission since we took our first steps in 2004. In that year, we built a guest lodge (Jungle Bunks) and fellowship hall so that we could take our young family and visitors to help with surgical campaigns at a remote Amazon hospital.

Since then, we have led, hosted, and directed 43 campaigns and treated nearly 1000 patients with broken, deformed or unhealed bones. Countless lives have reversed course from fear-filled and hopeless, crippled and abandoned, to joyous, working, and independent. Alongside the life changing surgeries, sweet relationships with countless people have been forged: friends and neighbors in the jungle; patients whose hearts have been eternally changed; trip members whose eyes were opened—the ripple effect will continue for generations to come and all eternity. With a strong record of offering hope and healing, God has made it clear that we are entering a season of expansion.

On September 1, 2021 we launched our capital campaign. By the end of 2022, it is our intention to blast past the million-dollar threshold to build and purpose a new campus. We will construct much needed facilities as a vital extension of our orthopaedic mission. Services will include a patient care center at which prosthetic fabrication and physical rehabilitation will take place, accommodating the longing by our Peruvian friends to address mounting and monumental orthopaedic needs.

We appeal to you to pray for this project, and ask yourself, “How might I help?” We want you to be fearless with us. We are ready to reach the miraculous million-dollar goal. We serve a God who specializes in miracles, as He has shown to us through Scalpel At The Cross. Thank you for joining us in this bold new adventure.

    Humility and Grace,

    Peter and Nancy Cole
