Peter A. Cole, M.D.
Dr. Peter Cole is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota, where he has worked since 2002, while establishing a national clinical referral center for acute and chronic post traumatic patient conditions in the area of fracture care. In this context he has built a prolific clinical research laboratory and educational platform serving all levels of medical trainees.
He is an established organization builder, and serves as the Program Director for the HealthPartners 4-Hospital Orthopaedic Trauma Network, including Regions Hospital where he is Chairman of the department. He is known for surgical innovation and complex care delivery at both individual patient and system levels, as well as being a highly compassionate physician interested in his patients’ lives. Dr. Cole did his medical and residency training at The University of Miami, Brown University, and The University of Washington while going to college at Emory in Atlanta where he met his lovely wife Nancy.
In his spare time, Dr. Cole loves all four seasons in the great outdoors, is an avid fan of New England’s famous sports teams, a creative writer, passionate athlete who is eager to spot you points, and a loving dad of one daughter and two sons, and husband to his spitfire Nancy of 35 years! Certainly, one of his greatest labors of love is Scalpel At The Cross which he and Nancy co-founded in 2004, and for which he leads medical teams twice a year.
