Daniel Mueller
Daniel Mueller is a German missionary prosthetist who has dedicated his career to impacting the field of orthotics and prosthetics in underserved environments, most recently in the Peruvian Andes at Diospi Suyana Hospital. His journey began at 17 years old during a visit to his missionary uncle in Ecuador, where he met his future wife, Rebecca. Together, they have served in Albania, Ecuador, and currently in Curahuasi, Peru, where they are raising their four daughters. In Curahuasi, a town of 20,000, Daniel established an orthotics and prosthetics clinic and fabrication site within eight years, dedicated to providing prostheses for amputees and comprehensive orthotic care, particularly for the underserved. As the Program Director, O&P Care Delivery at Scalpel At The Cross, Daniel will lead the orthotics and prosthetics care delivery model, ensuring high-quality patient care through evaluation, design, fitting, and delivery of custom devices. He will oversee the program’s development, manage efficient service delivery, supervise device fabrication and maintenance, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, playing a crucial role in shaping the program’s vision while upholding the mission of Scalpel At The Cross.
