What delight to spend Christmas here in Peru ... and with our children ... most of them!
There was much rejoicing at the success of the medical operations
as our team and the medical staff of the hospital worked
together. In the next few months, we will follow up with
each of these patients … pursuing the healing of what was
repaired and pursuing the opportunity to share the hope of
life offered in following Jesus.
Contentment always springs from faith … it will continually involve a fight to live and think from the perspective of trust in One we cannot see … One we believe in based on his promises and by the power of his Spirit working in us.
Connecting with the patients who have benefited from Scalpel surgeries gives insight into needy lives and hearts.
Arriving with a Scalpel Team, the Porch Family are on the ground in Peru.
Hi Friends! We are one week away from a July 31st departure! It seems surreal until we look around and see the boxes and bits of our lives being packed away or taken along in trunks.
The 31st of July, our departure date, is fast approaching. God has called us to this new venture for the kingdom, and we are eager to go and begin the work. Initiating new aspects of ministry influence is part of how the Lord has chosen to orient our life.
This past Sunday evening, Laurie and I presented a skit to our church, Jubilee, to help them visualize the hats we will wear in this new role with Scalpel At The Cross in Peru. It was humorous and yet sobering as we put back on the hat of language and culture learning for this new context.
